Aviation New Zealand champions the international development of New Zealand's aviation exports, encourages the development of scale through collaboration, and connects international customers with appropriate solutions developed in New Zealand.

The Knotridge Report (New Horizons) released on 1 July 2010 reveals that the new Zealand aviation sector contributed NZ$9.7b in revenue including $3.8b in exports. The sector is conservatively forecasted to grow to $14.7b in 2015 with exports of $6.2b. The report is available here.
The industry’s substance is shown in the booklets produced for New Zealand Aviation Trade Mission to China, lead by Minister Brownlee, in June 2010, in English and Mandarin here. Australian Aerospace and Defence Expo, Avalon 1 to 6 March 2011. Canvassing is about to start. Any New Zealand companies should let Aviation NZ know of their interest in participating.
Profiling the capabilities of New Zealand companies. Go to the services part of the website and use its search features to check out the significant aviation capabilities that exist in New Zealand.
NZ MRO Project. This builds on research completed in January 2009 and the workshop held in Auckland in June. The aim is to grow the scale of the MRO industry in NZ.
Aviation Training Project. This aims to grow NZ capabilities so that the industry becomes a more credible supplier to international airlines.
India and China Programmes, The India mission November 2009 and China Mission in June 2010 have resulted in the development of a longer term programmes for those markets.
Free Trade Agreements. We remain vitally interested in the development of a New Zealand/India Free Trade Agreement and an EU/NZ Open Skies Agreement.
