Aviation New Zealand Projects
Building international knowledge of New Zealand capabilities
Improve the knowledge and awareness of New Zealand aviation industry capabilities in targeted international markets. This will support the activities of New Zealand companies overseas. International companies that become more aware of New Zealand capabilities will be encouraged to obtain product and service requirements from New Zealand.
Initiatives include:
- developing a website with information on the capabilities of the aviation sector in New Zealand
- linking the Aviation NZ website to other authoritative sites on the New Zealand aviation industry
- developing collateral including an Aerospace DVD
- a trade fair programme which has included India Airport and Airline Expo, New Delhi, March 2008; ASPA, Nadi, Fiji in May 2008; AVEX, Hamilton, October 2008; ASPA, Christchurch, December 2008; and the Australian International Aerospace and Defence Expo, Avalon, March 2009 and the Singapore Airshow in Feb 2010.

Developing Scale for a Flight Training Initiative
Initiatives include:
- a group of companies has been formed to target a specific international opportunity
- this collaborative approach has been broadened to examine other market opportunities
- scale solutions can now be offered to international customers
Building Understanding of the Unique Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities in New Zealand
Initiatives include:
- Research on capacity and capability completed January 2009. A Workshop for the MRO sector was held in Auckland on 9 June 2010 with Aviation Enterprises, Connection Technologies, Fieldair, Hawker Pacific forming a workgroup to help progress workshop outcomes
- Work underway to identify work currently sent overseas that could be done in NZ
- A Replica/Restoration workshop yet to be scheduled
- Company profiles progressively being added to this website
