Building Collaborative Business Opportunities
Develop business opportunities which require a collaborative response to achieve the scale and breadth of response required.
Identified opportunities are:
- China - training and services
- India - training, services and aiport fit-out
- South Pacific - MRO, aviation supplies, airport fit-out, services
- Vietnam - training, services & airport fit-out
- South America – Research being initiated
To help develop these opportunities, sector and market groups are being established.
Integrating Companies into Global Supply Chains
Intergrating New Zealand companies ainto the globale supply chains of small number of overseas based OEMs
Facilitating Regulatory Change
Specific issues are:
- sufficient medical examiners are appointed in key markets
- GST on international training contracts
- Address sector market entry issues in Free Trade Agreements/Air Services Agreements, regulator agreements
e.g. China, India and European Skies
- Progress regulatory convergence issues
- A New Zealand CAA with a mandate that supports international business development
Growing the New Zealand Aviation Profile
Improve the knowledge and awareness of New Zealand aviation industry capabilities in targeted international markets. This will support the activities of New Zealand companies overseas. International companies that become more aware of New Zealand capabilities will be encouraged to obtain product and service requirements from New Zealand.
Initiatives include:
- Developing a website with information on the capabilities of the aviation sector in New Zealand
- Linking the Aviation NZ website to other authoritative sites on the New Zealand aviation industry
- A trade fair programme which has included India Airport and Airline Expo, New Delhi, March 2008; ASPA, Nadi, Fiji in May 2008; AVEX, Hamilton, October 2008; ASPA, Christchurch, December 2008; the Australian International Aerospace and Defence Expo, Avalon, March 2009; the Singapore Airshow in Feb 2010; ASPA, Auckland, November 2010; Flair Hamilton, October 2011
- Mission to India: November 2009, May 2011 and June 2011, and China Missions, in June 2010 and November/December 2011
- New Zealand supplement in Aviation Business Oct/Nov 2008 and 2009
